Can’t avoid eating out? What to avoid during that date or business meeting

Mixed drinks or beer.
As depressing as it sounds, alcohol causes you to gain weight. This can make it difficult, especially when you may want that martini during that date that isn’t going well, or that Long Island Iced Tea during that business meeting to help you through it, but alcohol has been known to cause weight gain. Your best bet is either water with lemon, or an unsweetened iced tea, but if you must drink something that takes the edge off, a glass of wine is sure to do the trick. Wine has also been known to keep your circulatory system healthy, so enjoy that glass! |

Anything that is fried.
This one seems to be an easy one, but believe it or not, a lot of people still think that a little fried food won’t hurt you. Anything that is fried has three times the amount of calories and fat content that something that is not fried, so do the math. No French fries, chicken strips, Buffalo wings, fried shrimp, onion rings or pretty much anything that is crispy. Not only will you feel awful after eating it but your will immediately begin to retain water and pack on toxins. |

Creamy Salad Dressing.
If you decide to get a salad, or a salad with your meal, which you should, avoid any creamy salad dressing, for it is full of high fat content and calories. Instead, either choose oil and vinegar or a fat free Italian or Balsamic Vinaigrette. Your body will thank you for it. |

Appetizers.
Unless you plan on making your appetizers your meal, it is best for you to skip out on those extra calories unless you plan on having it be a low fat soup or salad. If you have a lot of appetizers, studies have shown that people are more likely to eat more of their meal, because of the fact that your brain is already programmed to eat a lot of food. This is why portion control is so important, and that if you get a smaller plate of food your brain will think you are not as hungry, and you will as a result eat less. |

But you CAN have that chocolate cake!
This one may be absolutely shocking, but studies have shown that having a little bit of chocolate is actually good for the body and because of the fact that it contains flavanoids, which are shockingly in apples, it betters your cardiovascular health and causes you to have a healthier balance with not wanting to eat other things so it will help you lose weight. Believe it or not there are also antioxidants in darker chocolates, which help rid your body of unwanted toxins, something also helpful in weight loss. So go ahead and give yourself a treat. Your body won’t hate you for it! |
