Think about how many people purchase ringtones every day. Now think about how it is more likely than not that every single person you encounter has a cell phone. Think about every one of these cell phones have purchased at least one ringtone recently. Now think about how much revenue is brought in to these companies because of these purchases. Now think about how many artists and record companies own rights to these songs. The amount of revenue that is made from ringtones is enough to stun the consumer.

So why do people love ringtones so much?
Ringtones can actually improve your mood.

Just as music has been known to lift someone’s mood, so can hearing the sound of a good friend calling you to your favorite song. Or, if you have picked one of your favorite songs as your ringtone, hearing anyone call you will give you that extra boost you need to get through your day. It can even be a lot of fun when different people get different ringtones, but this of course can get very pricey if you are on a budget. Otherwise, hearing the music will turn that frown upside down.

If you are going through your ringtone application and come across a song that you have not heard before, will decide whether or not you like it. If you do, you will purchase this ringtone and may even do extra research about this artist on the side. But the more new ringtones that your cell phone provider has, the more likely it will be that you purchase them, and the better the provider will do and as a result the artist and record company will do.

No matter how bad the economy gets, no one will give up their cell phone.

Cell phones have not become a just a privilege, they have become a necessity. Not only do you need a cell phone nowadays just for a simple safety precaution in case you are ever in a life threatening situation or in need of assistance, but it seems to be that in order to get ahead in a hold of different fields you need to be able to have access to your email and your fellow supervisors and employees at all times. The result of this is of course that you will be purchasing more ringtones and needing to have different audio sounds for different notifications on your phone.
