How budgeting your ringtones will save your cell phone bill!
It seems that monthly expenses for people nowadays have shifted. One of the most significant monthly bills for someone to take into consideration now is a cell phone bill. Text messaging can be where the problem lies, but for many, the problem can sometimes be with ringtones.
Ringtones are certainly necessary for your phone for the simple fact of needing to know when you are being contacted, but recently ringtones have become something that makes your cell phone bill very significant. |
Think about the kind of ringtone you would like to have.
When trying to budget your cell phone bill it is very important to think about the kind of ringtone that you would like to have. Does it matter to you if you have something that actually has a tune? Or do you prefer a standard ring? Would you like your ringtone to be more professional such as a simple vibrate? Or would you like it to be your favorite song? Is there a certain person that you will associate the ring tone with? Is there a song that you think of when you think of your family and friends? Is there a certain ring tone that you would like played if someone you don’t like calls you? What kind of alarm do you like to wake up to? |

These are all questions that you need to ask yourself when considering your ringtones. The cheapest way is to utilize the ringtones that are your phone already has. And the exciting thing is that the most recent phones you can buy actually have pretty good ringtones and very good variety. Typically there will be close to 30 different tones that you can choose from, all in different genres of music. In the most recent phones there are more genres than there ever has been, such as jazz and big band music from the 40s. If you want to keep your cell phone bill from having a very significant expense it is best to use this option that is already provided for you. |

If you are like most people, though, and love music, you are going to want to have a ringtone that is of your favorite song or artist. Assigning to a ringtone to a friend, significant other, family member or fellow employee can be a lot of fun and really enhance your cell phone experience. However, if you aren’t careful, before you know it you can find yourself spending anywhere from $15 to $30 extra dollars a month on your ringtones. Each ringtone typically will go for about $3 each, so before you know it, this can significantly rack up your cell phone bill.
The best thing for you to do if you still insist on having different ringtones for different groups of people is to allow yourself three ringtones. One for your family, one for your friends, and one that is a default ringtone for numbers that are calling that are not in your contact list and for individuals who do not fall under either of these categories. You will be amazed at how much you can save! |
