Get your Humor across.
When communicating via email, it is important to let your personality come through. Since there is no way of using eye contact and physical body language, make sure that your sense of humor and other important traits come across. For example, make a funny comment about something you read in their profile.

Don’t overdo it.
Make sure that you don’t write a long, serious email about what you want and when you want it. This often scares or turns people off from getting to know you. Keeping your answers simple and honest will make others want to get to know you more. For instance, if you’re asked about what you’re looking for in the long run, you might answer that you are looking for a long term relationship and foresee marriage in the future. What not to do: I am looking for someone who can move to my hometown, find a job, and marry me. While that may be what you want, no one is going to want a relationship that is already predetermined for them.
Flatter that special someone!
Who doesn’t like a compliment every now and then? For instance, compliment them on their smile if they show their picture. If there is no physical trait to compliment them on, say something sincere and positive about their profession.
Let’s face it; the dating world is confusing and difficult. Using these tips will help you get that much further in breaking the ice and creating a more personal connection with you and that special someone. |
